Pre-Professional Performance Intensive

Our Pre-Professional Performance Intensive is an opportunity for advanced dancers on the pre-professional path to study in a professional company environment. Dancers will gain experience learning repertoire and performing while working along side DE LA Dance Company under the direction of Artistic Directors Meridith Benson and Mario de la Nuez. 

Dancers will take company class daily followed by rehearsal for DE LA's outdoor production "Dance Under the Stars" which will take place July 29 & 30 with one performance each evening. "Dance Under the Stars" rep will include "Swan Lake" Act II, Mario de la Nuez's "Bolero", and Meridith Benson's "Noche Caliente".

This new intensive is designed to develop dancers technique and artistry to aid in their future careers. Dancers are required to attend all 6 weeks of this intensive.

Pre-Professional Pointe Intensive 

June 27th-July 29th

Monday-Friday 9:30-1:15

 

This specialized intensive is for the advanced ballet student who needs to strengthen their pointe work. It is designed for dancers who are beginning the process of auditioning for apprenticeships with professional companies but are not quite ready for that next step.

We work on the basics of the pointe technique, spending needed time at the barre doing basic releves and strengthening foot exercises to improve the dancer’s ability to perform variations and choreography on pointe with strength and finesse.We teach the whole body approach to pointe work working on proper alignment, rotation, and placement.

The intensive is a 3, 4, or 5 week program that consists of a 2 hour ballet technique class Monday through Friday followed by 1 1/2 hr pointe class 3 days/wk and variations 2 days/wk.

Auditions are by appointment only.

Thursday 1:00-2:30
